One of the original goals of Tanzania Beach Lifeguards was to teach as many people as possible how to swim. Since scaling this mission proved challenging, we began by focusing on children with disabilities, and to keep this vision alive, our lifeguards now lead Swim for Survival clinics for them at the Shaaban Robert pool. So far, 85 children from Jangwani and Pugu Secondary Schools, as well as Uhuru Primary School, have taken part in the program. They’re making incredible progress, and I can’t wait to see them swimming safely and confidently in the future! Here is a video of the children from Jangwani Secondary School arriving at the pool.
