It’s December 31st, the end of 2025. I turned 18 yesterday, and as another year closes, it feels like the right moment to reflect on a project I started when I was 15. Over the past three years, we’ve made enormous progress. What began as an idea has grown into a real, professionally run operation that is gaining recognition within the community.

As the program has developed, we’ve created jobs that people have told us truly changed their lives, carried out hundreds of rescues, and most importantly, made the ocean accessible to people who otherwise may never have had the chance to experience it, which was the goal since the beginning.

There is still much more to do. My main focus this year, alongside keeping the operation running smoothly, is making the program more self-sustaining. I’ve begun applying for grants, but with the nonprofit world in a period of uncertainty, I’m increasingly optimistic about sponsorship opportunities. Because of this, I’ve started reaching out to potential sponsors who could help cover a significant portion of our yearly expenses in exchange for visibility on our uniforms and towers.

There’s always more work ahead, but I’m confident that this will be a breakthrough year.

Happy New Year,

Remi
