Here is a story from James (Jimmy) Chacha, who is another lifeguard and helped with the boat rescue.

"I was on duty on Eid. A young mother was swimming and had left her two young children playing on the beach. A big wave hit the beach and pulled the two kids into the water. They were about 3 or 4 years old. I ran over, although we couldn’t see the kids, I headed in the direction I thought they would be in. I was groping blindly and managed to grab one kid, hoist him out of the water and grope for the other one. I rescued them both. "

"A young man was swimming with a float but it got away from him. He kept trying to go after it and got into trouble. I saw him and dove in. By the time I got to him, he had drunk a lot of water. I put him in the recovery position and after a while he was ok."
